Happy Constitution Day!

This morning the choir participated in the 1st Jerling celebration of Constitution Day. During the 3rd hour assembly, the choir performed "We the People," which they only just began learning a little over a week ago. They performed with enthusiasm and did a wonderful job. Our founding fathers would be proud!

Music Parents Association Meeting

Come out this Monday evening for the first Music Parents meeting of the 2007-08 school year. The meeting is at Jerling in room 118 at 7pm.

What is the Music Parents Association?
The Music Parents are a booster organization whose purpose is to support the music programs at Jerling and Liberty. They hold monthly meetings, sponsor a magazine fundraiser (hopefully you've all seen the information for the fundraiser in the past week), purchase supplies for the music program that fall outside the limits of the district budget, volunteer for various events, and give scholarships to students who attend summer music camps. We are always looking for more parents to get involved in the Music Parents Association. Here are some ways you can get involved:
  • Pasta Potluck Committee
  • Pancake Breakfast Committee
  • Family Movie Night Committee
  • Newsletter Editor
  • Officer
  • Uniform Mom/Dad
  • Magazine Fundraiser Co-chair
Hopefully I'm not forgetting anything! So come on out this Monday evening and get involved in your child's musical education!

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir - Climb Every Mountain

Please watch this video clip of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir performing "Climb Every Mountain" from The Sound of Music. They are an amazing choir! I was able to see them perform at Ravinia over the summer and it was a truly moving experience. I hope you enjoy this video.
